Momper Insulation Of Indiana Supports Naima’s Efforts To Improve Energy Efficiency Of Existing Homes

Local Firm Donates Services to Insulate Fort Wayne Home As Part of “The Power is in Your Hands” Campaign

Fort Wayne, IN (February 10, 2006) — The North American Insulation Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) recognizes Momper Insulation of Fort Wayne, Indiana for its generous donation of services as part of “The Power is in Your Hands” Campaign, a nationwide effort to promote energy efficiency, which NAIMA sponsors.

On February 3, 2006, Momper used Knauf’s fiber glass loose-fill insulation to increase the energy efficiency of the attic and walls of the Yablonsky family home in Fort Wayne. The family previously had little wall insulation and low levels of attic insulation, which left them with high energy use and an uncomfortable home. They now have a well-insulated home envelope, which is the area that protects the indoors from the outdoors, and insulation levels of R-49 in the attic and R-15 in the front and side walls, the recommended levels for optimum savings and comfort.  This combination of projects can save up to 20% on the Yablonsky’s energy costs according to the US Environmental Protection Agency.

“Without the support of Matt Momper and Momper Insulation, we could not have pulled this off,” said Bob Gardner, marketing manager, technical services, Knauf Insulation. “Here was a family clearly in need of a more energy efficient home, and with Matt’s assistance we were able to help them control their energy costs and live more comfortably. This is a great investment for any family. Momper really showed how much they care about their community.”

“NAIMA also thanks Momper Insulation for its support of the Campaign. We are doing this to raise awareness of the need for better energy efficiency in our homes and buildings, which use more than 40% of all energy used in the US,” said Robin Bectel, director of communications for NAIMA. “Never has the time been more right to encourage homeowners to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. It saves money, increases home value and makes a home more comfortable.”
